Director, College of Architecture and Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design Washington University in St. Louis, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts | St. Louis, Missouri We are pleased to announce that the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis has selected Aki Ishida to serve as the next Director of the College of Architecture and Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design, effective July 1, 2024.Ishida is an associate professor and interim associate director of the School of Architecture at Virginia Tech. A licensed architect and widely admired educator whose work has been exhibited internationally, Ishida is author of “Blurred Transparencies in Contemporary Glass Architecture: Material, Culture, and Technology” (2020), which examines material glass in broader cultural and social contexts.
