The University of San Francisco (USF) selected Opinder Bawa as its new Chief Information Officer and Vice President Information Technology Services effective January 2014.
Mr. Opinder is currently the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the University of California San Francisco and Chief Information Officer for the School of Medicine. In these roles, he provides technology, organization and thought leadership in support of advancing the core missions of patient care, research and education.
Mr. Opinder is known in the high-tech industry for being a change catalyst, leading with a meaningful vision and the creation of well recognized technology solutions and services. Over his career, he has developed award winning technology delivery organizations known for collaboration, innovation, domain expertise and client focus. His prior experience includes serving as the CTO at Boston Medical Center and the CTO and Senior Vice President of Global Services at the SCO Group.
Mr. Opinder holds a master's in business administration and information technology from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor in computer science the City University of New York. Regan Gough led this search with Cathy Daniels.
