Dean, College of Engineering Purdue University | West Lafayette, Indiana We are pleased to announce that Purdue has named Arvind Raman its next John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering, effective April 1.Dr. Raman has served as executive associate dean of engineering and Robert V. Adams professor at Purdue University since 2019. Dr. Raman was the inaugural associate dean for global engineering programs. From 2008-2012 he was named a Purdue University Faculty Scholar and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2012. He is an ASME Gustus Larson Memorial Award recipient, National Science Foundation CAREER awardee, and the Keeley Fellow College of Engineering at the University of Oxford awardee for outstanding young investigator. Dr. Raman received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s degree, also in mechanical engineering, from Purdue, and a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi.
