Edmund Burke School

We are pleased to announce the completion of our search for a Head of School at the Edmund Burke School. From a strong pool of candidates, Steve McManus has been selected for this important role, effective July 1, 2022.

For the last decade, Steve has served as Upper School Principal at Friends School of Baltimore, working with 386 students and 55 faculty members in Grades 9-12. From 2005-2011, Steve was the Head of Middle School at Garrison Forest School. He is a seasoned administrator and experienced teacher, with more than 25 years of experience in both independent and public schools in the region.

Steve holds a BS from Georgetown University, an MAT from Towson University, and a post-master's certificate in administration and supervision from Loyola University - Maryland. Following his undergraduate work, he served in the Peace Corps in Senegal. Steve is also a Trustee of the SEED School of Maryland and served on the Academic Affairs Committee for the Loyola Blakefield School.
