Chancellor Louisiana State University Health – New Orleans | New Orleans, Louisiana The President of Louisiana State University invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of chancellor of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center--New Orleans (“LSU Health”). Located in New Orleans, Louisiana, LSU Health is a public academic health sciences center with a rich history of delivering quality education, research, and patient care. LSU Health is renowned for its excellence in medicine, nursing, public health, allied health professions, and graduate studies, as well as for having the state’s only school of dentistry. LSU Health’s world-class research initiatives in key areas such as neuroscience, cancer, addiction, cardiovascular biology, infectious diseases, and health disparities have also earned the campus national distinction. The faculty at LSU Health include more than 500 highly qualified members who are leaders in their fields and dedicated to advancing the institution's mission.The chancellor is expected to be an experienced and well-respected leader with an established academic and research background. They should also be a skilled administrator capable of building an exceptionally structured and effective operation and a visionary who will ensure that the university continues to excel in providing excellent education to its students while supporting the region through increased research productivity, enhanced medical education, and additional clinical opportunities. The new chancellor will have to navigate a complex and competitive healthcare landscape and address the evolving needs of the community. The chancellor will also need to develop a unified vision of LSU Health that aligns with the strategic vision of LSU. The chancellor should be a thought-leader and innovator who will define, lead, and execute health initiatives for Louisiana. Reporting to the LSU President, the chancellor serves as LSU Health’s chief executive, overseeing the strategy and operations for the campus and working closely with clinical affiliates, community leaders, and elected officials to advance the campus’ mission.
