Joining Isaacson, Miller in 2004, Jane’s executive search career focused on educational institutions, public policy organizations, associations, and foundations. She contributed as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and was head of the firm’s Washington, DC office. Now retired from active search work, Jane remains engaged in a consultative role. Jane began her career as a congressional staffer. After earning a PhD in political science from Columbia University, she taught at both Columbia and Sarah Lawrence College before returning to Washington, DC, and to policy work. Jane later served as Executive Director of the League of Women Voters and as Senior Staff in the Center for Public Policy Education at the Brookings Institution and Chief Operating Officer of the Center for Policy Alternatives, an advocacy organization that advises state legislators. Over the course of her career, Jane has developed a national network of nonprofit leaders, political activists, academics, and foundation officers. She has in-depth knowledge of strategic planning, resource development, executive training, and staff recruitment and retention; she continues to share this expertise with her Isaacson, Miller colleagues in her role as a consultant to the firm.
