Dan has built a multi-faceted search practice at Isaacson, Miller leading recruitment assignments in higher education, academic medicine, research institutes, and other nonprofit organizations. In addition to senior organizational and academic leadership, he has deep experience recruiting for financial leadership and functional administrative roles. His comprehensive, client-centered practice is informed by a career in higher education spanning over two decades. Prior to joining our firm, Dan served as vice president for planning and vice president for human resources at Long Island University as well as provost of Southampton College. He has also held senior positions at Duke, Stanford, and Harvard universities. His clients in higher education represent both public and private institutions and range from national research-intensive universities and comprehensive institutions to liberal arts colleges. Additionally, he focuses on academic healthcare and nonprofit financial and business leadership and COO searches. Dan recently completed a five-year term as a trustee of the College Board and has also served on the faculties of NACUBO's Future Business Officer Program, the Treasury Institute for Higher Education, and the Rutgers Leadership Academy. His work with professional associations enhances his ability to successfully assess and recruit candidates, deepens his understanding of client needs, and furthers his commitment to advancing the mission of each institution he serves.
