Ernest brings over a decade of diverse leadership experiences across a broad range of mission driven institutions. Prior to joining Isaacson, Miller in 2019, Ernest served as President and CEO of Academy of Preachers, Inc., a national ecumenical professional development organization for clergy affiliated with The Lilly Endowment, Inc.
Ernest previously served as Special Assistant to the CEO of The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, was a Higher Education Fellow for Graduate Diversity Initiatives at the University of Chicago and Assistant Dean of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College, among other roles.
A passionate advocate for effective governance and leadership, Ernest has served on the boards of directors and trustees for several national and local organizations including Interfaith Community Initiatives, Inc., Southern Initiative Algebra Project, Inc., and Rural School and Community Trust, Inc. Additionally, Ernest has led consulting engagements with numerous organizations in the areas of mission and vision development, program design and launch, strategic planning, organizational governance and change management.
Ernest has participated in the Socrates Seminars of the Aspen Institute and frequently lectures in the areas of ethical leadership, intercultural education, spiritual development and vocational discernment.
