Elizabeth Gray | President and Chief Conservation Officer

The National Audubon Society appointed Elizabeth Gray, PhD as Audubon's President and Chief Conservation Officer, effective March 8, 2021.
Trained as an ornithologist, Dr. Gray spent considerable time as a dedicated conservationist in the field nationally and abroad. She joins Audubon from The Nature Conservancy, where her roles spanned scientific leadership in the Pacific Northwest, state and divisional directorships in the Mid-Atlantic/Central Appalachians Region, and climate leadership roles in Africa and North America. Most recently Dr. Gray served as TNC's Global Managing Director for Climate. She earned her Ph.D. in ecology from the University of Washington and holds an A.B. from Harvard University.
