Dean, College of Technology, Architecture & Applied Engineering Bowling Green, OH

Dr. Jennie Gallimore has been named the new Dean of the College of Technology, Architecture, and Applied Engineering at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Her appointment will begin on June 28, 2018.

Dr. Gallimore currently is associate dean and a professor in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State University (WSU). She has held a number of leadership roles at WSU, including associate dean for research and graduate studies, since 2015; executive director for professional development in the college, from 2012-15; and director of the Ohio Center for Excellence in Human-Centered Innovation, a center of excellence she helped develop, from 2009-12. Her wide experience includes developing partnerships with external groups such as the Air Force Research Laboratory, serving as director of a center comprising representatives from industry and academia, and internally, participating in negotiations for WSU’s collective bargaining agreement. Dr. Gallimore is the first woman tenure-track faculty member in her college at Wright State and has a deep understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion. She is experienced in the accreditation process, including ABET, a distinction achieved by BGSU’s electronics and computer engineering technology and engineering technology programs.

Dr. Gallimore’s academic background is also expansive. A professor of human-factors engineering, she holds joint appointments as a professor of surgery in Wright State’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and professor of computer science and engineering. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in experimental psychology, both from California State University, Northridge, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering and operations research from Virginia Tech, with a concentration in industrial engineering and human factors engineering.
