Colgate University seeks a dedicated and strategic professional to serve as Chief of Staff to the President. This individual will serve the President, and the Office of the President, at a time of significant strategic planning at the University. She or he will help to organize, coordinate, and translate initiatives and plans being developed across the University into action while working with administrators, faculty committees, and the Board of Trustees.

It is an exciting moment at Colgate University with a president in his second year, newly-formed senior administrative team, capital campaign in development, and institutional bicentennial celebration on the horizon. The President has engaged the faculty, the staff and administration, and the Board of Trustees in a comprehensive planning effort designed to significantly strengthen Colgate across the totality of its mission.

The inaugural Chief of Staff will have an understanding of and appreciation for a residential liberal arts education; drive to foster strategic discussions and forward institutional planning; appreciation of Colgate’s history and traditions, as well as vision for its potential; understanding of the educational value of a diverse community; ability to diplomatically operate in a complex environment; and desire to build relationships and interact with a broad range of individuals both internally and externally.
