Director of Development and External Relations Boston, MA

From the Top has selected Emily Borababy as its Director of Development and External Relations, effective November 2018.

Ms. Borababy is a 12-year development professional. Her career reflects a passion for service and a successful track record of managing volunteers, developing strategies and working alongside individuals and corporations to strategically conceive of and achieve their goals in philanthropic service. She was most recently the Executive Director for the American Red Cross, Greater Miami & the Keys Chapter, and previously oversaw the Florida chapter of the Tiffany Circle, which saw 33 percent growth to become the largest chapter in the nation under her guidance. She also served as the Executive Director of the Florida Southern Gulf and Greater Miami & the Keys Chapter, where she provided leadership alongside the Board of Directors during Hurricanes Matthew and Irma, and the FIU Bridge Collapse.

Prior to joining the Red Cross in 2014, Ms. Borababy worked in fundraising positions at such institutions as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Celebrity Series of Boston and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Emily is humbled to have worked alongside generous philanthropic partners on several impactful donor-funded endeavors, including the establishment of the music therapy program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Ms. Borababy believes strongly in giving back in her free time as well by serving on several boards and steering committees, including Nu-Deco Ensemble, a genre-bending orchestra based in Miami, Florida. She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a degree in vocal performance where she participated in the elite Trustee Scholar program.
