The next Dean of the School of Law will join the University at a time of challenge and tremendous opportunity. The Dean will serve as a key member of the university leadership team and will lead a school that currently enrolls 296 students, drawn from 29 states and 146 undergraduate institutions, with this year’s starting class of 115 representing 25 states. In addition to a strong legal curriculum and dedicated faculty of 28 full-time professors and 42 adjunct professors, the School of Law runs clinics and offers an international exchange program as well as joint-degree programs and other opportunities.

The Dean will play a crucial role in defining the next era of the School of Law and addressing a number of key strategic and operational priorities. To be successful in this role, the Dean will:

  • Articulate a forward-looking vision that builds upon and celebrates the School’s history, identity, and potential;
  • Advocate for the School and collaborate with the University;
  • Foster transparent communication channels with faculty, students, staff, and alumni to enhance a sense of community;
  • Continue to recruit, retain, train, and place high-quality students;
  • Further engage with the external community with the external community and elevate the School’s national prominence.
