The board of the University of Connecticut (UConn) Foundation appointed Scott Roberts to serve as the organization’s next president and CEO, effective May 28, 2019.  

Mr. Roberts most recently served as the vice president for philanthropy and alumni engagement and the president of the UNLV Foundation at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  In his role at UNLV, he led a team of 90 staff members in development and alumni engagement and had oversight of $280 million in funding through the UNLV Foundation.  Under his leadership, the UNLV Foundation set an all-time annual fundraising record of $93 million in fiscal year 2017 and was honored by the Council for the Advancement and Support for Education (CASE) for overall improvement in fundraising activity in 2018.

Prior to joining UNLV, Mr. Roberts held the position of director of university development at Pittsburg State University (Kansas) and directed the school’s $120 million campaign.  Prior to this appointment he was director of major gifts for the College of Business and the College of Technology at the university.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Roberts served as a district executive for the Boy Scouts of American (Ozark Trails Council) and a program director for the Pittsburg Family YMCA.  

Throughout his career, Mr. Roberts has been involved with numerous nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.  He currently serves on the Blackbaud Higher Education Executive Advisory Board, the board of directors for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Foundation, and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.  Mr. Roberts also sat on the CASE District VII board of directors.
