Associate Dean of Health and Well-being, the Colonial Center Washington, DC

The George Washington University (GW) seeks an accomplished leader with proven experience furthering the health of students to serve as its Associate Dean for Health and Well-being, Colonial Health Center (CHC). This is an extraordinary opportunity for a visionary healthcare professional with proven management and leadership experience to create and implement an innovative, community-based model of health and well-being at one of the most highly-regarded private research universities in the nation.

In this role, the Associate Dean will be an ambassador across campus, leading the elevation of CHC’s reputation and reach, and advocating for a student-oriented and community-based model of health care. The successful candidate will be deeply committed to ensuring well-integrated, multi-disciplinary health care that supports GW’s diverse student body, through equitable access and culturally competent, high-quality services and programs for all. The Associate Dean will ensure that the excellent staff of CHC has the management and support required to transform the CHC into a preeminent model for health and well-being on a college campus.

The Associate Dean is responsible for stewardship of CHC’s annual budget, which supports medical care, mental health and counseling services, health promotion and educational outreach, and campus-based community health services for 26,000 undergraduates, graduate students, and professional students. The Associate Dean will report to the Associate Vice Provost and Dean of the Student Experience within a newly integrated Enrollment and Student Experience office; will serve as a leader in the Office of Student Experience; and will lead the CHC leadership and a staff of 47 in providing overall direction, design, and implementation of the programs, policies, and initiatives of CHC. The Associate Dean is responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships with many campus colleagues and partner agencies, and represents CHC in the community and provides innovative leadership and vision on student and campus health and wellness-related issues.
