Director of the Amherst Fund Amherst, MA

Amherst College has selected Stephanie Flaherty to serve as the next director of the Amherst Fund, effective February 3rd, 2020.

Ms. Flaherty has worked in annual giving at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 2008, most recently as the director. She successfully led UMassGives, a 36-hour online giving initiative, resulting in over $2.9 million in commitments from nearly 9,500 donors in fiscal year 2019, a 30% increase in donors and a 95% increase in commitments over the previous fiscal year. She also oversaw the leadership annual giving initiative, Women for UMass Amherst, raising almost $200,000 for the university, and recruited and managed its 22-member steering committee.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Flaherty held development roles with the US Fund for UNICEF, a Chicago-based youth development program, Alternatives, Inc., and Cambridge College. She also served as a teacher and college counselor.

Ms. Flaherty earned an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in education from Lesley University.
