Director of Analytics and Planning Honolulu, HI

Punahou School has named Virginia Loo, Ph.D. to serve as its next Director of Analytics and Planning, effective July 1, 2020.

Virginia brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of strategic planning, data science, and the evaluation of educational initiatives in diverse populations. She is currently the co-director for the Partnership for Epidemic Analysis (PEMA), where she has overseen strategic planning and continuous quality improvements in the fields of HIV Prevention and Control and Sexual Violence Prevention. She has extensive experience leading evaluation and research initiatives for the World Health Organization (WHO), Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), World Bank, UNICEF, Hawaii Department of Health, University of Hawaii, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to name just a few. Her work has taken her to dozens of countries around the world and given her a unique global perspective on the most pressing challenges of today and the forces that allow communities to come together to solve them.

After graduating from Punahou in 1992, Virginia attended Harvard University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Later, she earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health, University of California – Berkeley.
