Recruiting exceptional leaders for mission-driven organizations.

Executive Director Washington, DC

The DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) invites nominations and applications for the position of Executive Director (ED). DC PCSB is seeking an exceptional leader who has a deep commitment to providing quality education to all students. This is a compelling opportunity for a strategic, data-driven individual to lead one of the nation’s top public charter school authorizers. The leader is expected to provide forward-thinking solutions to the challenges that D.C. students and families face as they seek schools that attract more families to DC and to public education, close achievement and opportunity gaps and prepare students for life after graduation. This role presents a rare and exciting opportunity to engage with students, families, and school leaders as the DC PCSB continues to provide quality school choices that meet the needs of a diverse population of learners.

The next ED must be a results-based leader with demonstrated experience managing a variety of policies and systems. This person must have the proven ability to recruit and manage an exceptionally talented and diverse team of individuals, maintaining DC PCSB’s tradition of excellence. In addition, the leader must be an astute problem solver with outstanding communication and policy skills and possess the fiscal expertise to manage DC PCSB’s multimillion-dollar annual operating budget.

Finally, the ED must possess strong interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration and engagement with a multitude of stakeholders, including students, families, communities, schools, DC PCSB Board, and DC government agencies and officials.
