Bicycle Coalition of Maine has announced they have selected Jean Sideris to serve as its new Executive Director. Ms. Sideris starts her new role on February 25, 2020.

Ms. Sideris brings a wealth of wisdom and experience, with nearly 20 years under her belt managing advocacy and education campaigns in the non-profit sector. She is also an enthusiastic cyclist who enjoys hopping on her bike for both commuting and long-distance rides, including BikeMS and the Trek Across Maine.

Jean spent the last 15 years working for the Union of Concerned Scientists, most recently as their deputy director of campaigns in the climate and energy program. Her skill set includes strategic planning and cultivating relationships. She also has a passion for protecting the environment and promoting clean energy.  Jean holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado and a MA from Northeastern University, Graduate School of Journalism.

Jean is a true believer in BCM’s work and has been a member and volunteer with the organization since moving to Maine a few years ago.
