Recruiting exceptional leaders for mission-driven organizations.

President Atlanta, GA

Emory seeks a transformational leader with the vision, capability, and drive to inspire the university community to achieve greater levels of eminence. As a leading research university rooted in the liberal arts and catalyzed by visionary investments, Emory University has never been better positioned to inspire and deliver impact. Emory is recognized internationally for its outstanding liberal arts colleges, graduate and professional schools, and one of the world’s leading health care systems.

A nationally and highly ranked global research university known for exceptional teaching, research, scholarship, health care, and service to humanity, Emory University combines nine undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools and colleges with the most comprehensive—and constantly growing—health care system in the region and a sponsored research base that make it one of the great universities in the country. As a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) since 1995, Emory is a leading partner in the AAU’s mission to “strengthen the contributions of leading research universities to American society.”

Emory has a signal advantage: a common purpose to think beyond oneself. This sense of responsibility has been present among students, faculty, staff, and alumni across generations. The result is a courageous community continuing to realize the university’s mission “to create, preserve, teach, and apply knowledge in the service of humanity.” Emory attracts record-setting funding, the highest caliber faculty, and the brightest student scholars.

The Emory University Board of Trustees has initiated the presidential selection process to identify the successor to President Claire E. Sterk, who announced in November 2019 that she will retire as president at the end of August 2020.
