Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Denver, CO

Isaacson, Miller is pleased to announce that the University of Denver has named Dr. Christopher Whitt as its next Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Whitt will begin his tenure effective April 1, 2021.

Whitt most recently served as the inaugural Vice Provost of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at Creighton University. At Creighton, he led the rollout of the school’s Truth and Racial Healing Transformation Action Plan and worked collaboratively with Creighton’s HR team, Title IX office and Student Life to develop a Bias Education Support Team. Whitt supported the school’s academic colleges as they constructed unified approaches to socially just teaching, service, and scholarship. His legacy includes aligning DEI evaluation with the results of the university’s climate survey processes and establishing scholarship opportunities for students, including Creighton’s $1 million partnership with Union Pacific for their Diversity Scholars Program.

Prior to Creighton, Whitt served as chair of the Department of Political Science and as founding director of the Center for Inclusive Leadership and Equity at Augustana College. Whitt holds M.A. and Ph.D. in government and politics from the University of Maryland. He earned a B.A. in political science at Salisbury University. Whitt has been recognized nationally for his teaching as a political science professor.
