Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement Amherst, MA

Amherst College has appointed Fritz Kuhnlenz as senior director of alumni and constituent engagement, effective June 2022. Reporting to the associate chief advancement officer, Kuhnlenz will provide strategic vision and innovative leadership for all aspects of Amherst’s alumni and constituent programs in support of the connections of alumni, parents, students, and friends to one another and the College.

Kuhnlenz comes to Amherst most immediately from the Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory where he implemented the merger of the two alumni bodies as the senior director of alumni affairs. In that role, Kuhnlenz doubled overall alumni engagement, grew an engaged alumni volunteer corporation, and built one of Boston’s largest collegiate-based alumni mentorship programs. Kuhnlenz brings a breadth of experience to the role, having previously served in progressive alumni affairs and admissions roles at Boston University, his alma mater, and beginning his development career as a gift officer at Marymount University.

Kuhnlenz earned a bachelor of arts and master of education from Boston University.
