Isaacson, Miller (IM) is pleased to welcome Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA, as a Senior Advisor in our Healthcare Practice. Cam brings decades of experience as a nationally recognized cardiologist and healthcare leader, offering deep insight into the complexities of academic medicine and health systems.

Cam most recently served as Chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and CEO of UAMS Health from 2018–2025, where he led Arkansas’ only health sciences university and its statewide health system. Prior to UAMS, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Komansky Children’s Hospital. Earlier in his career, Cam held numerous academic and clinical leadership roles at the University of North Carolina, including Physician-in-Chief at the UNC Center for Heart and Vascular Care and Executive Director of the UNC McAllister Heart Institute. He completed residency (including a year as chief resident) at Emory, followed by research and clinical fellowships at Harvard School of Public Health and UTMB, where he later joined the faculty.

A prolific researcher and educator, Cam has secured more than $60 million in NIH, AHA, and CDC grants and authored over 320 peer-reviewed publications. He earned his BA from Vanderbilt University, MD from Emory University School of Medicine, and MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
