Chapman University, Senior Vice President for Student Affairs

Genia Herndon, Ed.D.

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our search for the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at Chapman University. From a strong national pool of candidates, Genia Herndon, Ed.D., has been selected for this important leadership role. Dr. Herndon will join Chapman on July 31.

An experienced cabinet-level leader, Dr. Herndon most recently served at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver), where she spent nearly two decades in progressively senior roles. Her work spanned the full student lifecycle, from recruitment and campus life to post-graduation success, culminating in her role as Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the institution’s senior-most student affairs officer.

In addition to her higher education experience, Dr. Herndon brings expertise in public policy, alumni relations, and enrollment management. Earlier in her career, she served as a development officer in the nonprofit sector and managed strategic partnerships for national organizations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Colorado Denver.
