Russell Ivy, PhD | Provost and Senior Vice President DePaul University, Provost and Senior Vice President Following a national search, DePaul University has appointed Russell Ivy as provost and senior vice president, effective July 1, 2026. Ivy brings more than three decades of experience in higher education and a distinguished record of advancing student success, expanding educational opportunity, and strengthening academic programs.Ivy joins DePaul from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where he has served since 2015 as vice provost for academic affairs and most recently as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. Ivy was also instrumental in the creation and growth of the Center for Global Engagement, overseeing the expansion of international student services, study‑abroad programs, intensive English instruction, and immigration support—significantly strengthening the university’s global presence. In recognition of his contributions to international education, Ivy received the Michael P. Malone International Leadership Award from the Association of Public and Land‑grant Universities in 2025.His appointment positions DePaul to continue strengthening academic excellence while advancing its mission of access, opportunity, and student success during a period of significant change in higher education.
