Discovering Justice, Executive Director

Discovering Justice, a Boston-based civic education nonprofit, named Rana Suh Kannan as its next Executive Director. 

With a career dedicated to providing students with equitable access to high-quality education experiences, Rana brings extensive leadership experience in the areas of non-profit management, strategic innovation, and empathetic team building. Rana’s previous experiences as a teacher, school administrator, funder, and nonprofit professional will serve Discovering Justice’s mission to enable students to become well-equipped with the knowledge, skills, and desire to build and sustain an equitable democracy.

Most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Boston Schools Fund (“BSF”), Rana co-led the development of BSF’s five-year strategic plan and ensured its operationalization across the organization. Previously, Rana played pivotal roles at organizations such as Salsify, Phoenix Charter Academy, and The Achievement Network. Rana also spent the initial formative years of her career as a math teacher and the Director of Graduate Services at Roxbury Preparatory Charter School (“Roxbury Prep”). Rana is a graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education and Williams College.
