Gregory Bell, PhD | Dean Florida State University The Graduate School, Dean Florida State University has appointed Gregory Bell as dean of The Graduate School, effective July 6.Bell currently serves as dean of the Graduate School and professor of mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he has also held roles as associate dean, interim dean, and director of graduate studies in mathematics and statistics. A recognized leader in graduate education, he has served as president of the North Carolina Council of Graduate Schools and on the executive board of the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools.A Panama City, Florida native, Bell earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in mathematics from the University of Florida and completed an NSF-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Penn State.At FSU, he will partner with faculty and academic units to advance graduate education, strengthen student support and funding, and enhance professional development as part of the university’s Student Academic Success division.
