We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Golden has been appointed Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.

Golden brings more than 20 years of nonprofit and government experience to this new role. Most recently, she served as Executive Director for Advancement Marketing & Communications at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she built a communications infrastructure to support the university’s $100M+ annual fundraising goal and its upcoming comprehensive campaign. Previously, Golden led strategic communications for the Embassy of Australia in Washington, D.C. and has held various leadership roles at The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

As GMRI’s first Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Golden is charged with leading efforts to engage with local, regional, and increasingly global stakeholders to grow the institute’s reputation for scientific excellence, community-based innovation, and outsized impact.

Golden holds a Master of Arts in International Communication from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, where her graduate work included environmental science, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida.
