Instruction Partners has appointed Eugene (Gene) Pinkard Jr. to serve as the organization’s first president.

Reporting to the CEO, Pinkard will manage the internal work of the organization, including research and development, partnership programs, and staff support and professional growth. 

Pinkard brings deep and varied experiences across education to Instruction Partners. He began his career in the classroom, first abroad in rural South Africa and then in Washington D.C., and held increasingly senior leadership roles with the DC Public Schools in the years following, including principal, principal supervisor, and cabinet member. Most recently, Pinkard directed K-12 leadership for the Aspen Institute Education & Society Program.
