REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, Director of Development

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nicole Berman as REACH’s next Director of Development, effective August 2026.

Nicole is a nonprofit executive and fundraising leader whose career has been defined by a commitment to expanding access to resources and strengthening mission-driven organizations. She brings more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience spanning fundraising, strategic planning, organizational leadership, advocacy, program development, and relationship building. Beginning her professional journey in youth development, behavioral health, and community services, Nicole progressed into executive leadership roles where she combined operational expertise, strategic planning, and fund development to drive organizational success. She also brings experience in the domestic and sexual violence movement, giving her a meaningful understanding of the work REACH does and the needs of the communities it serves.

Throughout her career, she has successfully expanded fundraising efforts, strengthened donor and community partnerships, diversified revenue streams, secured significant grant funding, and led organizations through periods of growth and change. As Executive Director of St. Pete Pride, she transformed the organization’s fundraising program, increased corporate sponsorship revenue by more than 50%, grew the organization's overall budget, and drove a 300% increase in revenue during her tenure. While serving as Interim Executive Director of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County, she stabilized and diversified funding sources, secured more than $250,000 in new grants, generated over $500,000 in individual donations, launched the organization’s first peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, and cultivated a transformational multi-year gift. Nicole’s fundraising success is rooted in mission alignment, authentic relationship-building, and strategic donor engagement.

As REACH continues to implement its Strategic Plan and work toward FY27 goals, Nicole will play an important role in building sustainable resources, deepening relationships with donors and community partners, strengthening the organizational culture of philanthropy, and ensuring fundraising efforts continue to support the life-changing work happening across every program at REACH. Her passion for equity, collaboration, and mission-driven leadership aligns beautifully with the future that REACH and its community are building together.
