Jeremiah Matthew Davis | Oshman Director and Chief Executive Officer

San José Museum of Art, Oshman Director and Chief Executive Officer

We are thrilled to congratulate the San José Museum of Art on their appointment of Jeremiah Matthew Davis as Oshman Director and Chief Executive Officer.  Davis brings many years of leadership to San José, most recently from Oklahoma Contemporary, where he served as Director and Director Emeritus for nearly nine years, driving revenue, programming, partnerships, and education programs.

At the San José Museum of Art, Davis will work closely with experienced staff and the Board of Trustees to advance SJMA’s ambitious strategic plan, grow its operating capacity, and deepen its role as a cultural center for San José and Silicon Valley. He joins the Museum on October 1, 2025.

While with Oklahoma Contemporary, Davis oversaw 50 innovative curatorial programs. He also expanded the artistic and educational programs, increased community engagement, and drove attendance from 10,000 to 80,000 visitors. Davis also served as the Artistic Director for Marfa Contemporary in Marfa, Texas, from 2016 to 2018. He began his career in the New York theater community and has continued a connection to education, workshops, and professional practice in Istanbul and New York.
