From an exceptional pool of candidates, USC has selected Dr. David Madigan to fill this important position.Dr. Madigan brings nearly two decades of academic and administrative leadership experience at New York City’s Ivy League research university and the world’s foremost experiential university in Boston. Dr. Madigan spent more than a decade at Columbia University, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President for Arts and Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences - an enterprise that comprises 27 departments, five schools, more than 50 centers, 600 faculty, and 14,000 students. Most recently, Dr. Madigan served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northeastern University, leading the academic enterprise of a 40,000-student, 14-campus global university system, with 2,000 faculty and a $2.5 billion budget. A statistician and data scientist, Dr. Madigan is also an accomplished scholar whose work spans statistics, data science, and health research. Dr. Madigan is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and the American Statistical Association.
