Levy, MD, as executive vice chancellor for medical affairs and dean. A nationally respected academic medicine leader and physician-scientist, Dr. Levy begins his tenure on July 1, 2026, to lead one of the country’s top medical schools at a pivotal moment for academic health systems.Dr. Levy brings more than three decades of experience at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he has held a range of senior leadership roles across clinical care, research, and education. Most recently, he served as inaugural executive vice chair of medicine at Mass General Brigham and as the Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Physic at Harvard Medical School. His leadership has been marked by strengthening large, complex departments of medicine; integrating faculty and training programs at scale; and advancing discovery alongside high-quality, accessible patient care. He is recognized for his commitment to mentoring the next generation of physician-scientists and sustained record of NIH-funded research and innovation. Sr. Levy earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and attained board certification in internal medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary disease.
