Kennedy Kearney-Fischer

Kennedy joined IM in 2011 and co-leads the firm’s Environment + Conservation practice. She has worked on searches for presidents and executive directors; chief functional officers in communications, development, and programs; and other key leadership positions for organizations across the civic sector. She has been lauded for building strong partnerships with search committees, boards of trustees, and candidates, who value her learning and understanding of their organizations, her counsel in these critical moments of leadership transition, and her commitment to equity in the search process.

Some of Kennedy’s recent clients have included American Rivers, the Center for Coastal Studies, the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, MIT, the University of Richmond, the Colorado Community College System, Montefiore Einstein, Rush University’s Institute for Health Equity, PolicyLink, the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, and Alternatives for Girls. Through the depth and breadth of her search experience, she appreciates how people and communities can thrive when research, education, policy, and service organizations have strong leadership and mutually inform and support one another.

Prior to IM, Kennedy worked at the University of Chicago Law School and recruited teachers for a consortium of schools in Spain. For more than a decade, she has served as a medical advocate and crisis counselor with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, and she serves on the board of REACH Beyond Domestic Violence.
