Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the AVPAA will provide strategic leadership for academic functions and foster collaboration across academic departments and units on the LIU Brooklyn campus. Since 2014, LIU has continued to honor its pledge of affordable tuition with annual tuition rate increases of two percent or less. Average national and regional tuition rate increases were roughly double that during this timeframe. As a result, LIU tuition and fees are as much as 35 percent less than its regional peers.The AVPAA will play a pivotal role on the Brooklyn campus, collaborating with their Post campus counterpart and the VPAA to advance the LIU 2030 Strategic Plan, which emphasizes academic excellence, innovation, sustainability, fiscal strength, and distinctive student experiences. Serving as the key connector on the Brooklyn campus, the AVPAA will ensure alignment of mission, processes, and procedures. The AVPAA will work with the deans to strengthen LIU’s academic and research portfolio, oversee operations, guide accreditation and policy compliance, and foster student success and enrollment growth. The AVPAA will also champion innovative processes and technology, support data-informed decision-making, manage resources responsibly, and ensure implementation of school-specific strategic plans that meet or exceed accreditation requirements.Long Island University has retained the national executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to assist in this important recruitment. The target salary for this role is $125,000 - $150,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
