Philanthropic Advisor, East Coast Rare | Arlington, Virginia Rare, the leading behavior change organization in the conservation space, seeks an entrepreneurial development professional to galvanize and elevate philanthropic support on the East Coast at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation. In this newly defined individual contributor role, the philanthropic advisor will lead fundraising efforts in one of Rare’s most dynamic philanthropic markets and increase the organization’s visibility in the region through comprehensive cultivation, solicitation, qualification, and stewardship strategies aligned with Rare’s strategic priorities. With the East Coast philanthropic market offering significant opportunity for expanded donor identification, qualification, and engagement, the philanthropic advisor is positioned to grow both the volume and value of individual giving in the region, with particular emphasis on cultivating and upgrading high-capacity donors.Reporting to the vice president of individual giving, the philanthropic advisor will join a highly collaborative team of frontline fundraisers and work in close partnership with senior leaders, programmatic staff, trustees, and other colleagues to devise and implement development strategies for the region. Based remotely in the New York Metropolitan Area or Greater Boston Region, the philanthropic advisor will travel throughout key philanthropic markets within New England and along the broader East Coast to deepen donor relationships, identify and qualify new prospects, build community among Rare’s supporters, and expand the organization’s philanthropic visibility.The philanthropic advisor will also play an important role in helping Rare strengthen its presence within climate and conservation philanthropy circles through networking, donor engagement opportunities, and participation in key convenings and events.
