President and Chief Executive Officer Reconstructing Judaism | Wyncote, Pennsylvania Reconstructing Judaism is the central organization of a movement with over 90 congregations and havurot across North America and beyond. The organization seeks a bold, strategic, and values-driven CEO who can lead through seismic shifts in Jewish life—cultural changes, generational transitions, and evolving notions of practice and identity—amid complex global challenges. The next leader will embrace Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan’s idea of Judaism as “the evolving religious civilization of the Jewish people” and bring a vision to energize communities, inspire individuals, and spark innovation.Supported by an annual budget of $5 million and an endowment of $15.4 million, Reconstructing Judaism is recognized for leadership in gender equality, LGBTQ+ inclusion, racial justice, and as the first movement to accept rabbis with non-Jewish partners. Its core program activity includes the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, support for congregations, and educational resources and enrichment opportunities.Building on this foundation, the CEO will advance Reconstructing Judaism’s mission: to cultivate, provoke, and inspire a deeply rooted, boldly relevant, and co-created Judaism. They will shape a compelling vision, secure financial sustainability, and amplify the movement’s voice. In partnership with the Executive Vice President (EVP), they will ensure institutional resources are aligned and strategic priorities are met.The ideal candidate is a visionary strategist and communicator, with a strong fundraising track record, business acumen, and a commitment to leadership development across the movement. They will inspire confidence, foster collaboration, navigate complexity, and work closely with the Board, EVP, and staff.Salary range is $250,000–$275,000.
