Chair, Department of Neurosurgery

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and OU Health seek an outstanding academic neurosurgical leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and Clinical Service Chief of Neurosurgery.

This is an opportunity to lead Oklahoma's only academic neurosurgery department at a time of tremendous momentum. Over the past several years, the department has expanded its faculty, grown clinical programs, strengthened its research enterprise, and established itself as the state's destination for highly specialized neurosurgical care. Today, the department includes a high-performing clinical practice, ACGME-accredited residency and pediatric neurosurgery fellowship programs, a CAST-certified endovascular fellowship, a nationally recognized research program, and oversight of OU's Neuroscience Graduate Program.

The next Chair will build on this strong foundation by advancing the department's clinical, educational, and research missions; developing the next generation of academic neurosurgical leaders; strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations; and further elevating the department's national profile and impact.

The opportunity is enhanced by the University's ambitious Project 200 initiative, which will recruit approximately 200 new investigators across the institution, including 150 on the Health Campus, creating unprecedented opportunities for collaboration, discovery, and growth.

Applicants should hold an MD, DO, or equivalent terminal medical degree and be eligible for appointment at the associate professor or professor level. The successful candidate will be an accomplished academic neurosurgeon with a record of leadership, clinical excellence, education, and scholarship, as well as the vision and collaborative leadership style to guide the department through its next phase of success.
