The ideal candidate will bring an inspirational vision that unifies the Department’s clinical, research, and educational efforts and elevates its impact across Oklahoma and beyond.The College of Medicine is the largest component of the University of Oklahoma Health Campus (formerly the OU Health Sciences Center) and is the academic arm of OU Health, the state's largest and flagship comprehensive academic health system. Together, the College and OU Health are on a growth trajectory with an ambitious strategic plan aimed at leveraging its strengths to become a top-tier integrated academic health center, enhancing national recognition, expanding Oklahoma's healthcare workforce, and improving health outcomes and quality of life for many Oklahomans while reducing health disparities across the state. The Chair of Radiological Sciences will play a central role in these efforts by providing a foundational service across all service lines. Recently, OU Health and the University of Oklahoma Health Campus entered a new ten-year, $137-million strategic partnership with Siemens for a new fleet of radiological equipment and an imaging research center. Plans are also underway for a new theranostics center collocated with the new cyclotron. In this energized environment, the Department is primed to increase its clinical, educational, and research footprint across the OU Health enterprise. The Department comprises approximately 55 clinicians and staff across all radiology subspecialties, delivering services across OU Health’s multiple hospitals and outpatient centers. The Department offers residency programs in Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine as well as specialized fellowships. Additionally, the department has a graduate program in Medical Physics, offering master’s and doctoral degrees and a Medical Physics residency. With strong institutional support, the next Chair will have the opportunity to shape a cohesive departmental vision, strengthen research infrastructure, enhance clinical operations and training, and foster meaningful community partnerships.Applicants must have a MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree, be board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, be eligible for academic appointment in the Department as an associate professor or professor and demonstrate significant leadership in academic radiology.
