Dean Dartmouth College, Geisel School of Medicine | Hanover, New Hampshire We are pleased to announce that the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine has named Dr. Jennifer Hunt as its next dean. Hunt, currently interim dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine, will begin her tenure at Geisel on August 1, 2026.At the University of Florida (UF), Hunt served as chair of the Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine. She also served as chief of the hospital medical staff at UF Health Shands Hospital and clinics, where she oversaw more than 2,000 credentialed medical staff members and co-chaired the Medical Executive Committee. Hunt has served as interim dean at UF since January 2024.Prior to joining UF, Hunt held academic appointments and leadership roles at the University of Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and has published more than 160 peer-reviewed papers.Hunt earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and French at Bryn Mawr College and an MD and an MEd from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a residency in anatomic pathology and a fellowship in molecular genetic pathology.John Muckle and Natalie Leonhard led this search with Sam Ruth and Ethan Thomas.You can view the full press release here.
