Dean Duke University, School of Nursing | Durham, North Carolina Michael V. Relf has been appointed as the new Dean of the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON), effective May 1. Dr. Relf has been serving as interim dean since 2023 and is the Mary T. Champagne Distinguished Professor of Nursing and a research professor in the Duke Global Health Institute. He will continue his role as associate chief nurse executive for academic innovation and partnership for the Duke University Health System. Dr. Relf joined DUSON in 2008 and has held various leadership roles, including assistant dean for undergraduate education and associate dean for global and community health initiatives. He is a globally recognized expert on the psychosocial aspects of HIV and has made significant contributions to nursing capacity building in the context of HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa.
