President, Solutions Division

Enterprise Community Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Janis Bowdler as the affordable housing nonprofit’s next President of the Solutions Division. Bowdler is a nationally distinguished leader and brings two decades of impactful community and capital developmental experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

As the new President of Solutions, Bowdler will provide strategic guidance to Enterprise’s management team, leading its programmatic and advisory work, as well as policy innovation at the state and local level across Enterprise’s national network of regional offices. Bowdler will further lay an essential foundation for advancing Enterprise’s mission of making home and community places of pride, power, and belonging.

Bowdler most recently served as a senior fellow at the Equis Institute, where she focused on building a policy agenda for Latino economic mobility, and as a senior fellow at AmericaFWD, a new nonprofit committed to ensuring infrastructure investments build broadly shared wealth and prosperity. Her experience spanning public, private and nonprofit sectors reflects a deep insight into the partnerships needed to drive lasting impact. Prior to her time at Equis Institute, Bowdler served as the first Counselor for Racial Equity in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she spearheaded major investments under the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act and founded the Department’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. She also served as economic policy director at UnidosUS.

Prior to her time at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bowdler served as the president of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, leveraging a $2 billion global portfolio with the goal of expanding economic opportunity. Bowdler is the co-author of Building Equitable Cities, written alongside former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, Senior Fellow at Urban Land Institute (ULI) Jeffrey Lubell, and Former Global Chief Executive Officer of ULI Patrick L. Phillips.
