Director of College Counseling

We are pleased to announce that Marin Academy has added three new members to their college counseling team, slated to begin in July 2025. Dr. Jamon Pulliam will join MA as the Director of College Counseling, and Tom Esponnette and Tony Franco will join as Associate Directors of College Counseling. These additions to the existing team will decrease caseloads, increase partnership with students and families, and expand support of students’ journeys through admissions and standardized testing earlier in the process.

Dr. Jamon Pulliam is a nationally respected voice in the field. He brings experience from both independent schools and college admissions and currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of College Counseling at Viewpoint School. His prior experience includes college counseling at the Drew School in San Francisco, admissions at Morehouse College, and admissions coaching for the USC Bovard Scholars program.

Jamon will be joined by Tom Esponnette and Tony Franco. Tom comes to MA after six years as the Associate Director of College Guidance at Convent & Stuart Hall and six years as the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions at Tufts University. Tony has spent the past eight years as the Associate Director of College Counseling at St. George’s School in Rhode Island. Prior to St. George's, Tony spent six years at The Thacher School in Ojai and two years in San Diego at public and private schools. 

This team brings deep experience, diverse perspectives, and a shared commitment to empowering students to navigate the college process with curiosity, reflection, and a sense of possibility.
