Vice Chancellor for Student Life Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) | Cambridge, Massachusetts Massachusetts Institute of Technology has appointed Akirah Bradley-Armstrong as Vice Chancellor for Student Life, effective October 19, 2026.Bradley-Armstrong joins MIT from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where Bradley-Armstrong served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Success beginning in 2022. In this capacity, Bradley-Armstrong led one of the institution’s largest divisions, providing oversight for approximately 800 professional staff members, 2,100 student employees, and more than 30 departments focused on student success, health and wellness, housing, athletics, recreation, and campus life. Prior to this appointment, Bradley-Armstrong served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder and held several senior student affairs leadership positions at the University of California, Berkeley.A nationally recognized leader in higher education, Bradley-Armstrong has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and chaired the organization’s 2025 national conference.
