Stern School of Business has appointed Bharat Anand as its next Dean. Anand assumes his new role in August 2025.Anand is an expert in corporate, media, and digital strategy. His work has examined competition in information goods markets, focusing on two central challenges: “getting noticed” amidst the increasing clutter of alternatives available to consumers, and “getting paid” for what they produce. Anand currently serves as Vice Provost for Advances in Learning at Harvard University, where he helped steer Harvard’s teaching through the pandemic, contributed to the creation of Axim, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access in education, and led the creation of a new learning experience platform. He chaired a University-wide committee on the Future of Teaching and Learning in 2021-22 and currently serves as chair of the Generative AI Working Group for Teaching and Learning. Throughout his tenure, Anand has helped shape the University’s strategy for residential and online education and has been a significant voice in digital transformation.
