Associate Vice President for Human Resources St. Mary's College of Maryland | St. Mary's City, Maryland We are pleased to announce the completion of our search for the Associate Vice President for Human Resources at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Following a national search, Dr. Kathryn Dao has been appointed for this important leadership role, effective May 1, 2026.Dr. Dao brings more than 15 years of progressive human resources leadership across higher education, healthcare, and complex, highly regulated environments. She most recently served as Associate Vice President for Human Resources at Frederick Community College, where she led institution-wide HR strategy and oversaw employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance.She is known for a collaborative, people-centered approach and for partnering effectively with executive leadership, faculty, and staff to strengthen organizational effectiveness and support institutional priorities. Her experience advising senior leaders and leading policy, compliance, and workforce initiatives will be valuable as we continue to strengthen and support our HR operations across the College.Dr. Dao holds a Doctor of Organizational Leadership from Hood College, an MBA in Organizational Development from Mount St. Mary’s University, and a bachelor’s degree in business from Mount St. Mary’s. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and a CliftonStrengths Certified Coach.Dan Rodas led this search with Robin Dougherty and Nicole Sancilio.
