Dean University of Central Florida, College of Nursing | Orlando, Florida We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sharon Tucker as the next Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida, effective August 1, 2025.Dr. Tucker was selected from a strong pool of national candidates following an extensive search process. She currently serves as professor and chair of the Department of Nursing Practice at UCF, a position she has held since August. She previously served as the Executive Director of the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare, Associate Dean for Health Promotion and Well-being, and Director of the Center for Well-being and Prevention at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.A nationally recognized scholar in psychiatric mental health nursing and patient outcomes, Dr. Tucker brings deep clinical and academic leadership experience to her new role. Her career includes leadership positions at the Mayo Clinic, The Ohio State University, and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in Nursing. Dr. Tucker holds a Ph.D. from Rush University, a master’s from the University of Wisconsin, a bachelor’s from the College of Saint Teresa, and an associate degree from Rochester Community College.Read the full announcement here.
