As vice president for government and community relations, Sexton will serve as the University’s chief legislative strategist and lead advocate at the federal, state, and local levels.“Erin brings more than 25 years of government relations, public affairs, and community engagement experience to this role, and her expertise will be instrumental in advancing the University’s public mission,” said President Rebecca Cunningham. Reporting directly to the President, she will guide a coordinated and strategic approach to advancing the University’s mission with elected officials, policymakers, and community and campus partners statewide. She will lead the team responsible for showcasing the distinct contributions of the University’s five campuses and statewide locations to amplify the mission, cutting-edge research, and impact the University has in Minnesota and beyond.Erin joins the University following several distinguished roles at Mayo Clinic, most recently senior director of external relations.
