Since joining Isaacson, Miller in 2019, he has worked on more than 50 searches, spanning academic and administrative appointments from presidential and cabinet-level roles to deans and department chairs, as well as CEOs and CFOs for major arts, cultural, and civic organizations.His portfolio reflects particular familiarity with the South and the West Coast, including extensive work across the University of California and California State University systems, as well as multiple searches with Oregon State University, the University of New Mexico, and leading nonprofit institutions. As an ICF-certified professional coach, Phuong brings a relationship-centered approach to his work, helping clients and candidates navigate complex leadership transitions and organizational change. Before joining Isaacson, Miller, Phuong worked at The Posse Foundation, where he partnered with Houston-area school districts and community-based organizations to recruit and support high-achieving, first-generation college students. He holds an MA in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford Graduate School of Education and a BA in American Studies from Tufts University. Outside of work, Phuong enjoys volunteering with the Stanford First Gen/Low-Income Alumni Network and the EMERGE Alumni Board, a Houston-based college access nonprofit.
