Since joining IM, he has partnered with a diverse array of organizations on their senior leadership searches, including Dartmouth (Provost; Inaugural Dean of Arts and Sciences), School of the Art Institute of Chicago (President), Rice University (Executive Vice President for Research), Rutgers University (Dean, Mason Gross School of the Arts), The Rivers School Conservatory (Executive Director of Performing Arts), Friends of the Public Garden (President), Outward Bound USA (Executive Director), United States Institute for Theatre Technology (Executive Director), and the Smithsonian Institution (Chief Information Officer). Prior to joining the firm, Stephen worked with art and design students at Parsons School of Design at The New School as Assistant Director of Academic and Career Advising. Stephen's experience working in education spans from counseling 6th-12th grade students to academic and career development in higher education. Stephen earned his MA in Applied Psychology; School Counseling from New York University, and both his BA in Sociology and his BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz.
